Behind every pet cared for by PFSS is something truly special. It is not just a foster home or a temporary place to stay. It is a community of people who believe that no one should have to choose between their own wellbeing and the safety of their pet.

Every day across Scotland, our volunteers, supporters, and donors come together to make a real difference. Whether someone is facing illness, homelessness, or domestic abuse, our shared goal is the same, to ensure pets remain safe, loved, and ready to return home when the time is right.

Every Person Plays a Part

When people think about PFSS, they often picture our wonderful foster carers. They are at the heart of everything we do, opening their homes to pets who need temporary care.

But there are many other people who make our work possible.

Supporters who share our social media posts help us reach more volunteers. Donors help us provide food, veterinary care, transport, and emergency supplies. Local communities help spread the word that support is available for pet owners facing difficult circumstances.

Every act of kindness, no matter how big or small, helps us continue our work.

More Than Temporary Care

Providing a foster home is about much more than giving a pet somewhere to stay.

It is about maintaining routines, offering reassurance, and creating a calm environment while their owner navigates one of the most challenging periods of their life.

For owners, knowing their pet is safe allows them to focus on their own recovery, housing, or personal safety without carrying the additional worry of what might happen to their companion.

Growing the PFSS Family

As demand for our service continues to grow across Scotland, so does our need for foster carers, particularly for medium and large dogs.

Every new volunteer means another pet can receive the care they deserve and another owner can receive the reassurance they need.

If fostering is not right for you, there are still many ways to help. Donations, fundraising, and simply telling others about PFSS all have a meaningful impact.

Thank You

To everyone who has volunteered, donated, fundraised, or supported PFSS in any way, thank you.

Because of your kindness, hundreds of pets each year receive the love and care they need while their owners work towards brighter days.

Together, we are building a community that keeps pets safe, supports people through difficult times, and helps families stay together.
